Surveys—Making the Most Out of Your Quantitative Research

There are numerous opportunities for gathering insights into the customer experience—surveys, focus groups, usability, and market research. At Peak Seven Consulting, we pride ourselves on a successful track record of knowing and developing the right kind of research methodology to uncover your top customer issues that are hindering you from realizing your organization’s highest potential.

With quantitative data from surveys, the data is only as good as the questions and participant recruiting process. That’s where Peak Seven Consulting comes in. We use our extensive experience in facilitating quantitative data by helping you identify what research is most relevant to gather, benchmark and track into the future.

Managed online or in print, Peak Seven Consulting uses surveys as a great stand-alone tool or in concert with qualitative research efforts, such as focus groups or usability studies, to gather the quantitative data you need to support changing the customer experience and reaching peak performance.

Our process always starts with understanding your business goals/objectives. From there, we can help you with any or all of the following aspects of surveying.

Survey Development & Management

Tailored for your business goals/objectives, we create surveys that have the sticking power to get quality participation and a strong set of quantitative data from which to analyze any gap between how your customers currently perceive you and how you want them to perceive you.

Whether creating a survey format for use online, in print or over the phone, your opportunity for improvement is in that perception gap. To ensure we gather the strongest, most consistent data for your unique business needs, Peak Seven Consulting incorporates the following core components into any survey: demographic information, industry/competitor context, general product/service usage and company-specific input.

For most surveys, Peak Seven Consulting recommends a balance of questions that result in percentages, rankings/ratings and free-flow input. We find that using mostly quantifiable questions is particularly beneficial; however, sprinkling in some qualitative questions tends to provide additional context and significance behind the core data.

In addition to developing surveys, Peak Seven Consulting is highly experienced in managing any aspect of the survey process—from identifying participant recruitment criteria to soliciting participation; communicating/coordinating with participants to tracking responses against requirements for statistical validity; and gathering the data for collation, analysis and next-step recommendations.

Data Collation and Analysis

Peak Seven Consulting has developed ways to collate and analyze data that result in a user friendly representation of what the data means, why it’s important and where you can go from here. Half the battle with being able to take quality data to the next step is being able to present it effectively to your key internal audiences. You can turn to Peak Seven Consulting for tried-and-true methodology for doing just that.

Correlating Quantitative and Qualitative Data

Quantitative research can be confirmed, denied and/or further fleshed out with the benefit of corresponding qualitative data. In addition to providing survey services, Peak Seven Consulting also offers qualitative research opportunities—many times, we provide them together. However, if you have additional data internally that you want help correlating, confirming and/or analyzing against other data, we are well-equipped to provide you with that support.

Research-Based Recommendations

Making sense of where your organization is relative to how it’s perceived by your customers can be very eye-opening. The most successful organizations incorporate research and insights from their key audiences into any big changes or transitions they make—whether that’s major web site renovations, new e-commerce capabilities, new services, different branding schematics, etc.

Because the Peak Seven Consulting team has extensive experience in marketing communications, website design/development/content, change management, and customer experience-related research, we are uniquely equipped to “translate” any research into high-powered recommendations that deliver. Are you ready to take that next step in performance?
