Chris (Swanie) Swanson has more than 20 years design and internet marketing expertise which includes search engine marketing (SEO & SEM), user interface/user experience (UI/UX) design, website design, print and digital media design, branding, illustration, promotions and public relations, print design, cartooning, drawing, social media marketing, direct response marketing, and copywriting. He utilizes the Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and WordPress to design solutions for diverse industries ranging from healthcare to higher education. He has worked in a variety of industries including healthcare, sports/fitness, law, insurance, real estate, and government.
As a Senior Web Communications & Marketing Strategist at University of Colorado Health for 7 years, Swanie developed and delivered all aspects of the hospital’s web presence to include the design, development, and implementation of public websites, public and employee blogs, UI/UX design, SEO (search engine optimization), social media, intranet, DRM (direct response marketing) landing pages, (CRM) customer relationship management, and web analytics.
Swanie also serves as an adjunct professor at Pikes Peak Community College, instructing Website Design, Production Design, Adobe InDesign, MultiMedia and Graphic Design, for the multimedia and graphic design departments, both in the traditional and hybrid class setting.
Prior to UC Health, Swanie was a Senior Creative for RockShox, a mountain bike suspension company. He performed all marketing creative functions including user interface design, printed ads, trade shows, OEM sales materials, logo and product sticker design, clothing design, and video. He was also proud to serve as an officer in the role of Regional Admissions Director, for the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs where he led a team of more than 100 air liaison officers to plan and develop admissions strategies and programs for more than 5,000 applicants annually. Additionally, he served as a part-time Fine Arts instructor. As Squadron Section Commander at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, he managed a personnel and admin team that handled the personnel records and awards programs for more than 500 service men and women.
Mr. Swanson has a MA in Advertising & Design/Illustration from Syracuse University and an MBA in Information Systems from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
